What makes me ICONIC?

I have the endurance of a world-class athlete and the power to control and access 100% of my brainpower. I am in perfect condition to do whatever I set my mind to and I have big plans for myself – starting with being one of the first in my family to graduate from college.

My superhero costume proudly carries the colors of the Guatemalan flag and a feather motif which is a nod to my Mayan roots and the indigenous language I speak, Qanjobal. These elements of my costume are a daily reminder that I belong to a long legacy of superheroes.

The best part about my powers is that I fundamentally believe that they are within reach for everyone. I didn’t always have these powers but when I began to realize that everything I wanted was within reach if I just believed in myself, I was suddenly the most powerful being on earth. That’s when I began to dream big.

Before my next birthday, I’ve challenged myself to run 100 miles in 24 hours. Long-distance running has taught me many lessons, chief among them is that if you can’t appreciate the long, at times arduous journey, it doesn’t matter if you reach the finish line. With every step and setback, there is an opportunity to know just how powerful we really are. Running reminds you that in your weakest moment, you are strong and there’s just no telling how far I’ll go.
