What makes me ICONIC?
I’m a natural-born leader and when you meet me, you’ll have no doubt that I’m a superhero. My superpowers allow me to fly and it’s a gift bestowed on me since birth. I was destined to soar and I make my community proud at every turn.
Following the footsteps of American hero and former U.S. Congressman John Lewis, I’m a proud student leader at Fisk University, a historically black college in Nashville, Tennessee. I know I stand on the shoulders of giants when I walk on campus. Nowhere is that more evident to me than when I’m singing with The Fisk Jubilee Singers. We are vocal artists and current students continuing the legacy of the original Fisk Jubilee Singers from 1871 who first introduced spirituals sung in secret by enslaved people to the world.
I lead by example, and like those before me, aim to soar to even greater heights.
